My idea is to turn out of use train tracks into bike tracks to create a new form of attraction for tourists and locals alike in Tasmania.

There are many former train tracks in Tasmania that are out of use. By filling them with compacted gravel and sand they could be turned into perfect bike paths for touring the Tasmanian countryside safely and in a family friendly way by bike. This would create a new way of attracting tourists who would then need accomodation, food and equipment. Creating those bike tracks would help to grow the tourism industry in Tasmania and benefit particularly remoter areas of Tasmania. In Europe many of these bike tracks exist and draw tourists from all over the world. Apart from the economic benefits the bike tracks would offer locals a healthy and environmentally friendly way to exercise and experience nature.
