People who participate grow 2 seedlings or more each somewhere in the local community, and take care of it for a year
Trees are being cut down faster than they are being grown, we can't just rely on the few organisations out there to help out with this growing problem. This is where the seedling challenge comes in. It's for all public primary and high schools, universities and companies. There will be two options, growing the tree from a seed or a seedling (trees grown from a seed will be targeted more at the primary and high school students). There will be a prize for the tallest tree grown from a seed, the school, uni or company which grows the most trees and the best arrangement of trees, after a 3 months. Fraxinus griffithii will be the tree used because it is a fast growing, aesthetically pleasing, native tree.
