Family Reflection Circles empower children and connect families helping to prevent any build up of resentment, or squashing of feelings which can have long-term negative impacts on emotional wellbeing, resilience and mental health.

Close your eyes and remember back to when you were a child. Do you remember ever having a conversation with your parents about how family life was going for you? I wonder how this may have helped you not only as a child but as you moved into the world of adolescence? Family Reflection Circles empower children by giving them a voice in the family and an opportunity to give feedback regarding what family life is like for them - both the positive and the negative. They provide parents with an opportunity to be accountable to their children and improve the way they parent. They provide a blueprint to solve family issues into the future by encouraging participants to talk about things they can ‘stop doing, start doing and keep doing’ as a family. National Family Reflection Circles are a brilliant way to bring children and parents together to connect and establish much needed healthy emotional patterns. Building relationship skills and a strong family environment will help prevent mental health problems down the track, rather than fixing chronic problems once they occur. Children deserve the best possible start. The emotional wellbeing of children is as important as teaching them how to read and write. So pick a time and a relaxed place, gather the family and start talking…
