The United Nations gives out awards to public servants who contribute to providing better services and more effective public administration.
CASE STUDY: The United Nations public service award
Here and overseas, public servants often get a back rep for being lazy and inefficient. However, there are some exceptional government employees in our midst.
For several years, the United Nations has held a Public Service Day to celebrate the contribution of government officials all around the world and to promote the public service as a career path for young people.
From 2003 – 2015, it also gave out the prominent United Nations Public Service Award to the best public servants globally who have contributed to providing better services and more effective public administration. Last year’s winners work related from everything including: reducing violence against women and promoting e-business.
